Since 2015, WhatsApp has become the world's most popular messaging application, with more than 2 billion users worldwide as of February 2020. The app is now the main form of communication across the globe.
Due to strong competition in the market, WhatsApp has to constantly improve its overall user experience. Thus, our goal was to add new features to WhatsApp while maintaining its simplicity and efficiency values.
Who among us has not tried to schedule a meeting with friends or family but failed due to scheduling conflicts?
According to our user interviews, this is a recurring problem. People use WhatsApp every day for communication. It is also their preferred platform to schedule social gatherings, but they are unable to decide on a place or time that will suit everyone.
The analysis aimed to know the competitors and find out if we could offer something unique and what made us different.
We compared messaging apps, scheduling platforms, and group calendar apps. Based on the results of the analysis, we created our wireframes.
Every group member can create a vote with up to five possible answers. It is possible for him to allow other members to add answers or to allow more than one answer to be selected.
Every member of the group can vote according to the voting creator's definitions. After he votes, he can view the results and see who voted.
Every group member can create an event. If he wishes, he can allow other group members to make changes or send a notification to everyone before the event. All group members can see the event in the group calendar after it has been created.
By clicking on attend, each member of the group can confirm his participation. He can also see who else is attending.
